Renovation of multifunctional pop center Q-Dance

Bureau Bouwkunde’s contribution:

  • preparation of a cost estimation for the definitive design (DO)
  • preparation of a Fire Safety Report, and providing advice on fire safety based on Fire Safety Engineering (FSE)
  • preparation of a Program of Requirements and design of fire safety installations, such as the fire detection system and emergency lighting
  • assessment of the design compliance with the Building Decree 2012
  • handling the application for the Environmental Permit
  • handling the Usage Notification
  • conducting discussions with the Competent Authority regarding the permit procedures.

The old Nestle factory in Amsterdam is home to the multifunctional pop center Q-dance, consisting of dance spaces, music studios, and design rooms. In order to accommodate creative companies, Q-dance commissioned Superuse Studio’s to create a new design for the first and second floors. Superuse Studio’s approached Bureau Bouwkunde to provide support for the design.
